Located on a dead-end narrow alley in the city center of Malang, this 100-sqm house serves as home to three generations of family. The project, initially conceived as a minor renovation, had to be reconsidered when the existing main structure was found to be unsalvageable. Given the home’s location, the construction approach had to minimize waste and material transportation. To achieve this, the design maximized the reuse of materials, repurposing most of the original brick, timber, and existing doors and windows for the new build.
